Description

Very good mosaic of different habitats, providing suitable conditions for big variety of birds of different groups. Traditional and nature friendly agriculture practices allowed presence of birds as European Roller, Eurasian Hoopoe, Lesser Grey Shrike, Little Owl and other. The cliffs on the slopes provide nesting sites to the Western Rock Nuthatch, Black Stork, Common Raven and other. On the stony and bushy slopes Chukar, Black-eared Wheatear, Olive-tree Warbler, Subalpine Warbler, Sardinian Warbler and Eastern Orphean Warbler can be seen. Levant Sparrowhawk keeps to the tree belts along the river, where Eurasian Hobby can be observed, too. White Stork nests in the little hamlets in the area are nesting sites of the Spanish Sparrow.

Access

Drive North from the village of Gorna Kula on the road 50909 and along the Krumovitsa River and explore the different parts of the valley till the village of Dolna Kula, where are the cliffs with most of the birds to be seen.
