Lac Amance is a large lake where many birds can be seen up close from a nice bird hide. Overlooking wide muddy areas of the lake's banks, surrounded by willows and reeds, you can spot many shorebirds. This place is also the 1st wintering place in France for Bewick's Swan, which are coming from Siberia. In winter you can also find divers, many ducks, Smew, Goosander and Peregrine Falcon. In summer terns, (mainly Common Tern, sometimes Black Tern), and many warblers. In autumn many waders and shorebirds.
Highlight of the year: the autumn migration. When large numbers of Common Crane (20,000 to 40,000 birds) migrate to the surrounding areas.
In Radonvilliers, follow the "Caron" road to find the bird hide on Lac Amance. See the map.
On the edges of the neighboring Orient lake and Temple lake are also ornithological observatories, and there are many observation sites near the dams. Not only the lakes are interesting, also the surrounding forests, meadows and orchards are full of birds.
