Description

The Roman aqueduct of the Pont du Gard is an icon that is worth a visit in its own right. But you can also encounter interesting birds in the area. European Bee-eater and Eurasian Hoopoe are two striking birds that you can see in the wider area of the Pont du Gard. Black Kite is a often seen and if you are very lucky you can spot the rare Bonelli's Eagle (two pairs nest in the Gorge du Gardon). Other birds you can encounter include Rock Dove, European Turtle Dove, Alpine Swift, Little Egret, Golden Oriole, Crag Martin, Rock Sparrow and Common Nightingale.

European Bee-eater et Eurasian Hoopoe sont deux oiseaux frappants que vous pouvez voir dans la zone plus large du Pont du Gard. The Pont du Gard is well signposted from Remoulins. Parking at the Pont du Gard is quite expensive, but a short drive in the direction of Uzès gives free parking within walking distance of the Pont du Gard and immediately the opportunity to encounter European Bee-eater and Eurasian Hoopoe.
