Description

The Leitz Park Nature Trail is a circular route with information boards with explanations of the diverse aspects of nature encountered along the way. The 3 km nature trail starts at the Leica Store in Wetzlar. The trail runs partly through forest, along some small ponds, grazed meadows and through more open areas. Among the birds you can see are Tawny Owl, Red-backed Shrike, Eurasian Goshawk, Black Woodpecker, Common Redstart and Red Kite. But you can also encounter wild boar, deer, hare and fox.

Access

You can park at the Leica Store in the Leitz-Park complex in Wetzlar. Click on the P in the map to get directions. The trail is free to use for all birders. You can try out Leica binoculars in the Leica Store (see link below) and take the binoculars along the trail.
