Description

Salt ponds 20 km north of Eilat that are rich in birds. Greater Flamingo, waders, shore birds almost all year round. Late spring is good for raptors coming to drink, like European Honey-buzzard. Birds that are often seen are Asian Green Bee-eater, Lichtenstein's Sandgrouse, White-winged Tern, Caspian Tern, Northern Shoveler, Northern Pintail, Black-winged Stilt, Avocet, Grey Plover, Greater Sand Plover, Kentish Plover, Common Ringed Plover, Spur-winged Lapwing, Black-tailed Godwit, Common Redshank, Spotted Redshank, Dunlin, Little Stint, Marsh Sandpiper and Ruff. Access

Come off Route 90 from the south, turn near km 20 marking, drive due east. Passable for all kinds of vehicles. Some parts may be muddy at times.
