Description
The Crezéepolder (50 hectares) is a special area of tidal nature in the middle an urban area. Fresh water flows at the rhythm of ebb and flow in and out of the area. This is rare in both the Netherlands and Europe. In the middle of one of Europe's most populated area's one can really have a birding feel. In the spring and autumn you can see many migratory birds here. Among the birds you can see are Common Redshank, Common Kingfisher, Reed Warbler, Osprey, Eurasian Spoonbill, Common Greenshank and Avocet.

Nederlands: De Crezéepolder (50 hectare) is een bijzonder stuk getijdennatuur waar je midden in de drukke Randstad toch het echte vogelgevoel kunt hebben. Zoet water stroomt hier op het ritme van eb en vloed het gebied in en uit. Dit is zeldzaam in zowel Nederland als in Europa en trekt veel vogels aan. In het voor- en najaar zie je hier veel trekvogels.

Access
Take the A15 exit 21 and follow the signs to Ridderkerk. Follow the Rotterdamseweg for about 2 km and take the Donkersloot Noord exit. From here follow the signs to Parking Crezéepolder. Parking at the Gorzen at Gorzenweg 5, 2984 BN, Ridderkerk. From there you walk to the Crezéepolder. There are hiking trails around the Crezéepolder and in the polder itself. The circular walk is about 5 km long.There are two bird watching screens in the Crezéepolder and along the river De Noord there are also two viewing points. Please note that this is a tidal area. At high water levels, the paths can sometimes be less passable and wear waterproof shoes or boots in wet weather or high water.

Nederlands: Neem op de A15 afrit 21 en volg de borden naar Ridderkerk. Volg de Rotterdamseweg circa 2 km en neem de afslag Donkersloot Noord. Volg hiervandaan de borden naar Parkeerplaats Crezéepolder. Parkeren bij de Gorzen aan de Gorzenweg 5, 2984 BN, Ridderkerk. Van daaruit loop je zo naar de Crezéepolder. Openbaar vervoer: Neem vanaf busstation Zuidplein buslijn 92 of 491 naar bushalte Oostendam in Ridderkerk. Opstappen kan ook bij treinstation Lombardijen in Rotterdam. Stap uit bij bushalte Oostendam en wandel bij de verkeerslichten richting Milieustraat Noordpolder. Volg het fietspad naar beneden en ga rechtsaf onder de A15 door. Wandel omhoog en pak de route op bij wandelknooppunt 45 (in totaal 800 m lopen).
Er zijn wandelpaden rondom de Crezéepolder en in de polder zelf. De route om de polder heen is ongeveer 5 km. Er zijn twee vogelkijkschermen in de Crezéepolder en langs de rivier De Noord is er ook een tweetal kijkpunten. Hou er rekening mee dat dit een getijdengebied is. Bij een hoge waterstand kunnen de paden soms minder goed begaanbaar zijn en trek waterdichte schoenen of laarzen aan bij nat weer of hoog water.
