Dense riverine vegetation, with luxuriant ash and willow trees, reedbeds and numerous agricultural smallholdings along the banks. Large presence of riverine and woodland birds. Possibility of observing all the species of woodpeckers occurring in Portugal. Frequent occurrence of Eagle Owl, sometimes detectable by its call.
