Description

A great place to see Bearded Vulture and hunting Golden Eagle. Also large numbers of nesting Northern Wheatear. In the late afternoon you have a chance on very low overflying Bearded Vulture and Egyptian Vulture, and big groups of Griffon Vulture. This 3 km long circular trail on a sunny mountainslope of Col de Pal in Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park leads through an area of meadows and juniper with blocks of stone that are used by marmots to live in and establish colonies. Along the way are information panels and the odd marmot burrow close to the path. You can often tell they are there by their whistles of alarm. Only in the late afternoon they are easy to see and sometimes even very close. Along the trail you also pass cows and can see Pyrenean chamois (Rupicapra pyrenaica). Other nice birds you can see here are Common Rock Thrush, Citril Finch, Common Raven, Red-billed Chough and Yellow-billed Chough.
