Description

Hököpinge and Eskilstorps ängar is a nice area of grazed meadows, shores and some reedbeds. Breeding species are Common Redshank , Northern Lapwing , Eurasian Oystercatcher and the in Sweden last remaining pairs of southern Dunlin (Calidris alpina schinzii).

In summer 2020 a pair of Corn Bunting stayed in the area, possibly breeding. From the shore there is a good (though rather distant) view of Foteviken and Näsholmarna. In the autumn pipits and Jack Snipe and a variety of geese can be seen.

In the north of the area is a shallow pond located, Verkstadsdammen, close enough to the sea to be filled quite long in to the summer and refills early in the autumn. In and arround the pond a good variety of Tringa waders can be seen but is also a good spot for Jack Snipe in the autumn and winter.
