Description
The main areas of interest are;
1. Gamber Meadows - reedbed, river and rushy swamp. Access from St Weonards, see map. May have ledňáček říční, bekasina otavní, krahujec obecný, konipas luční, puštík obecný, strnad rákosní and rákosník obecný.
2. Pencoyd fishing and irrigation pools. Park at Pencoyd church. May have žluna zelená, strakapoud velký, konipas horský, drozd brávník, bramborníček černohlavý, pěnice hnědokřídlá, pěnice černohlavá, volavka popelavá, káně lesní, poštolka obecná and krkavec velký.
3. Apple orchards north of Michaelchurch. 100's of drozd kvíčala and drozd cvrčala in winter.
4. Stubble fields, field margins sown for pheasants etc - attract flocks of skřivan polní, konopka obecná, čížek lesní, kavka obecná and occasional čečetka tmavá and pěnkava jikavec in late autumn. luňák červený and krkavec velký.
Mammals in the area include roe and muntjac deer, hare, red fox and badger.

Access
St Weonards is midway between Hereford and Monmouth on the A466. Buses every two hours from either town. Parking opposite the school then walk through churchyard. Please do not park by the church, as this obstructs farmer's machinery. The circular route from St Weonards is about 5 km.
Pencoed and Michaelchurch are near Harewood End on the A49 Hereford-Ross road. Buses are hourly from either town. The circular route from Pencoyd church is about 3 km.
