Description
Valley Wetlands RSPB Reserve has bukač velký that can be heard booming and occasionally flying over the reedbeds. There is a břehule říční colony on the river Crigyll, plus strnad rákosní, rákosník obecný, rákosník proužkovaný, cvrčilka zelená, bramborníček černohlavý and skřivan polní. In winter lžičák pestrý, hvízdák eurasijský, čírka obecná and ostralka štíhlá. Best to visit before 8.30 am as the jets from the aerodrome are noisy later on. There are otters, dragonflies and pyramid orchids.

Valley Wetlands has a car park on site. The reserve is in the NW corner of Anglesey and accessible by bus or car, see link below. There is also a train station at Rhosneigr.
