Description

Wolfscote Dale is a classic limestone valley in the White Peak with steep sides, quiet paths, and the River Dove running through the bottom. For birders, it’s about quality rather than big lists. Look up and you’ll often see sokol stěhovavý, káně lesní, and poštolka obecná over the cliffs. In spring and summer the slopes and tree's hold bělořit šedý, šoupálek dlouhoprstý, mlynařík dlouhoocasý, sýček obecný, krkavec velký.

Along the river, take your time. skorec vodní works the faster water, konipas horský is regular, and ledňáček říční often shoots past low and fast. It’s a calm, scenic place where the birds fit the landscape without the crowds.
