Description

The Floresta Nacional de Silvânia is a federally protected national forest in the Cerrado biome of Goiás. The forest is managed by ICMBio (Instituto Chico Mendes de Conservação da Biodiversidade). The forest is known for its biodiversity and great variety of bird species. More than 240 bird species have been recorded. Birds you can observe include Rusty-margined Guan, Red-legged Seriema, Yellow-chevroned Parakeet, Peach-fronted Parakeet, Red-shouldered Macaw, Blue-and-yellow Macaw, Surucua Trogon, Planalto Woodcreeper, Black-capped Antwren, Swallow Tanager, White-naped Jay, Black-fronted Nunbird, Long-tailed Tyrant and many others.

Floresta Nacional de Silvânia is located approximately 5-6 km from the city of Silvânia and about 73 km from Goiânia. The area can be reached by bicycle or car. There is parking available on site. Press P on the map for directions. The circular route shown on the map is about 2 km.
