Description
Eagle Gorge is an easily accessible gorge from Dedoplistsqaro. Gåsegrib, Sort Stork and Vandrefalk breed on the cliffs and can easily be seen from specific watchpoints along the routes. On warm days, Slangeørn and Dværgørn make regular appearances. In the forest down in the valley Pirol and Grøn Lundsanger can be heard in spring and summer.
The cliff walls are home to Klippespætmejse, Blådrossel and Klippesvale. Near the parking lot Hætteværling, Hortulan and Høgesanger are heard singing or can be seen on migration. In autumn, Jomfrutrane are sometimes seen migrating past the highest tops. Further along the path there is a breeding facility for wild Fasan , so a true wild bird of this species has to be encountered somewhere else.

Access
Eagle Gorge is located 130 km east of Tblisi near Dedoplistskaro in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia. Dedoplistskaro is reachable by road from Tbilisi in about 2.5–3 hours. Parking can be done at the Eagle Gorge parking lot. Press P on the map for directions. From the parking it is a short (but straining) walk towards some watchpoints.
