Description
A mixture of farmland fields, and hedges, deciduous woodland comprising of mainly Oak (Quercus), Beech (Fagus) and Ash (Fraxinus) with small areas of conifers. The large area of woodland holds a good amount of resident birds. Natugle, Grønspætte, Stor Flagspætte, Spætmejse, Træløber, Rødtoppet Fuglekonge and Fuglekonge are very common. During Summer Gransanger, Munk, Gøg, Grå Fluesnapper can be expected. Turteldue, Skovsanger and Rødstjert are a distinct possibility.

From Berkhampstead (to the South), take B4506 (near the church) signed Ashridge/Sunnyside, continue on this B4506 road. In the village of Ringshall turn Left signed Marsworth/Ivinghoe into Beacon Road, the dirt track to the first car park (free) soon appears on the Left. Further along Beacon Road is the second car park (free). The circular walk indicated on the map is about 6 km.
