Broom Lakes are former gravel pits that have become a nice habitat with pools and wet meadows that are interesting for many water birds and waders. When you walk around Broom Lakes you can - depending on the season - see good numbers of duck, including Gravand, Krikand, Pibeand, Troldand, Knarand and Gråand. Both Toppet Lappedykker and Lille Lappedykker are often seen. Other birds that can be seen here include Fjordterne, Lille Præstekrave, Stor Præstekrave, Strandskade, Vibe, Rødben, Stor Skallesluger, Rørspurv, Gulspurv, Rød Glente, Musvåge and Tårnfalk.
