Description
Waders passing Fife Ness in autumn can include Rødben, Hvidklire, Sortgrå Ryle, Mudderklire, Svaleklire, Storspove, Lille Kobbersneppe, Småspove, Hjejle, Strandhjejle and Vibe. Possibility of Hvidvinget Måge, Gråmåge, Rosenmåge, Kongeederfugl, Lapværling or similar in winter. There is a hide below the lighthouse. From September to April one can seawatch in comfort for skuas, shearwaters, gannets, divers, auks and gulls.
In 2022 there are plans to create a shallow loch, wader scrapes, marsh etc on a brownfield site, formerly Crail Airfield. See link for details.

Access
Crail is east of Anstruther and south of St Andrews. Parking is tolerated at Crail Golf Club, seek permission at the clubhouse.
