Description
Around the Fish Quay in Hartlepool gulls hang around, especially on the roof. Often joined in winter by Hvidvinget Måge and Gråmåge. In the harbour entrance Ederfugl, Rødstrubet Lom, Islom and Lomvie can often be seen. Sea watching by the lighthouse can produce a large variety of gulls, ducks, auks, terns, skua’s and shearwaters at various times of the year. The rocks along side the promenade are home to Sortgrå Ryle, Strandskade and Stenvender that winter in Hartlepool bay.

Hartlepool Headland is a 15 minute drive from the A19 and a 30 minute drive from the A1. There is a car park at the town square and in various streets in the area. Click on the P in the map for directions.
