Description
The Trent Port area is flat and overlooks a number of fields and the River Trent. The River Trent is a good location for Mudderklire during passage, Silkehejre and Isfugl. The surrounding fields and hedgerows have good numbers of Rødhøne, Rørspurv and Gulspurv. 150 species have been recorded here including local scarcities such as Skovsanger, Kernebider, Kaspisk Måge and Broget fluesnapper whilst Enkeltbekkasin and Stor Skallesluger are annual visitors. In winter the River Trent is prone to flooding the fields, which provide some additional ornithological interest. Species recorded during floods includes Skeand, Spidsand, Taffeland and Troldand.
