Beschreibung

Burg Linn is popular with history enthusiasts and families alike. It's also ideal for bird photographers, as the birds are quite accustomed to people. The park is open year-round, except during the Flachsmarkt (traditional craft market) in May, when birdwatching is not possible. The park features open meadows where you can observe Ringeltaube, Hohltaube, Rabenkrähe and Elster. There are designated dog-friendly meadows in the center of the park, as well as fenced pastures for cows and horses.

The park also boasts large ponds where you can often spot Stockente, Bläßhuhn, Teichhuhn, Nilgans, Reiherente and Höckerschwan. With a bit of luck you can also find Zwergtaucher (they're often found in the nearby Greiffenhostpark when they're not in Burg Linn Park), and in winter also Krickente can be spotted. Graureiher is common.

Numerous songbird species can be found in bushes and trees, the most common being Blaumeise, Kohlmeise, Rotkehlchen, Mönchsgrasmücke, Zilpzalp, Buchfink, Stieglitz, Star, Amsel and Singdrossel. When you are lucky you can spot Grauschnäpper or Kernbeißer.
