Beschreibung

There are two lakes in the area, separated by a strip of land. The banks of the northern pond consist of gravel and sand, whilst the southern pond is surrounded by trees and has only very narrow or no large banks; however, there are a few areas of reeds. To the west of the ponds, renaturation work is still actively underway. In addition to the ponds, the area also features meadows, hedgerows, fields and a small wooded area.

Whilst around the southern pond one can mainly hear and see songbirds such as the Zilpzalp, Blaumeise, Kohlmeise, Drosselrohrsänger, Sumpfrohrsänger, Mönchsgrasmücke, Klappergrasmücke, Dorngrasmücke and Heckenbraunelle, the pond itself is often home to Zwergtaucher, Haubentaucher, Stockente and Graugans. At the northern pond, you can mainly spot Reiherente, Bläßhuhn, Mandarinente and Höckerschwan. On the patch of meadow between the ponds, you will frequently find Schwarzkehlchen, Rohrammer and Feldschwirl. In the hedge by the road to the east of the ponds, you can find Neuntöter, Goldammer and Buntspecht.
