The Foce del Fiume Crati Reserve is a wetland that hosts a wide variety of migratory birds, with 170 species observed to date. The reserve covers an area of 208 hectares. Among the diverse habitats, such as reed beds, ponds and lagoons, sandy islands, flooded and riparian forests, and dune and retrodune areas, species such as: Kormoran, Mäusebussard, Rötelfalke, Teichrohrsänger, Knäkente, Tafelente, Bläßhuhn, Sanderling, Nachtreiher, Seidenreiher, Silberreiher, Graureiher, Turmfalke, Flußregenpfeifer, Flußuferläufer, Bienenfresser, Eisvogel, Buntspecht, Wanderfalke, Kiebitzregenpfeifer, Seeregenpfeifer, Brandgans, Rosaflamingo, Kuhreiher.

To reach the Foce del Crati Regional Nature Reserve: arrive in Sibari (Sibari junction on the A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria motorway, or via the Taranto-Sibari highway, if coming from the east) and take state highway 106 south (Corigliano Calabro). Once you reach the Crati Bridge, between Marina di Sibari and Thurio, turn left and follow the dirt road that runs along the last stretch of the river to the mouth, either on foot or by off-road vehicle. The mouth of the Crati (north side) can also be reached on foot by passing through the "Laghi di Sibari" tourist village.

Italiano: Per raggiungere la Riserva naturale regionale della Foce del Crati: arrivare a Sibari (svincolo Sibari sull'autostrada A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria, oppure attraverso la superstrada Taranto - Sibari, per chi proviene da est) e percorrere la statale 106, direzione sud (Corigliano Calabro). Giunti sul Ponte Crati, tra Marina di Sibari e Thurio, svoltare a sinistra e percorrere, a piedi o con un mezzo fuoristrada, la strada sterrata che costeggia l'ultimo tratto del fiume fino alla Foce. La Foce del Crati (lato nord), si può anche raggiungere, a piedi, attraversando il villaggio turistico "Laghi di Sibari".
