Beschreibung
Naturschutzgebiet Niederried Oltigenmatt is a great place as, in addition to the reed, it also offers the opportunity to observe birds on the rivers Aare and Saane, which flow together here. High sandstone cliffs with partly wooded areas also rise on the Aare side. Dead groups of trees can be seen in the reedbed and the area is protected from overgrowth by highland cattle. This site provides a habitat for Höckerschwan, Gänsesäger, Baumfalke, Mäusebussard, Rohrdommel, Blaumeise, and many more.
It is also great that the beaver is helping to shape the area and many traces can be seen.
