Beschreibung
Abbotsbury Swannery has open water, sand and shingle, withy beds and water meadows. Child-friendly with a decoy, swannery history exhibits and swan feeding twice daily (closed October to March). 152 wild species seen here including Gänsesäger, Mittelsäger, Sumpfohreule, Kolkrabe, Wanderfalke, Flußseeschwalbe, Zwergseeschwalbe, Gelbbrauen-Laubsänger and Schwarzhalstaucher.

Abbotsbury is midway between Weymouth and Bridport, 17 miles from each. The swannery is one mile south of the village along a minor road. Buses stop in the village (regular X53 bus service runs through Abbotsbury). No trains nearby. Parking is free, entrance fee £ 12. Note: the swannery is closed October to March.
