A great range of birds may be seen between Loch Lomond and the summit of Beinn Vorlich. Eisvogel, Graureiher, dabbling ducks and others on the loch may be seen from the viewing platform. The ascent passes through woodland with Wintergoldhähnchen, woodpeckers, Fichtenkreuzschnabel, Kleiber, pine marten, red and grey squirrels and Waldbaumläufer. Above the treeline, Feldlerche, Wiesenpieper, Wasseramsel, Goldregenpfeifer, Gebirgsstelze, Flußuferläufer, Steinschmätzer, Schottischen Moorschneehuhn, Merlin, Wanderfalke, red deer, mountain hare and Birkhuhn may be seen. The summit of Beinn Vorlich at 3,113ft/943 metres is likely to have Alpenschneehuhn, Steinadler, Kolkrabe, Mornellregenpfeifer and Schneeammer.

From Glasgow drive north on the A82. Inveruglas is 4 miles beyond the A82/A83 junction. Nearest train station is at Arrochar. The ascent is 960 metres and return trip is 8miles/13 km. Be prepared - equip yourself with stout boots, waterproof clothing, map, compass, charged mobile phone, food, water, and details of the weather forecast.
