Beschreibung
The Deben Estuary is a nationally and internationally significant wintering area for up to 6,000 Goldregenpfeifer, 600 Uferschnepfe, Rotschenkel and 400+ Säbelschnäbler. Also Alpenstrandläufer, Knutt, Kiebitzregenpfeifer and Kiebitz. Schellente at Martlesham Creek and Eistaucher at Ramsholt. Haubentaucher, Ohrentaucher, Schwarzhalstaucher and Wasserralle possible. Small flock of Berghänfling most winters. High tides are best for seeing roosting waders, check tide times and height first (see the link below). Take care not to get cut off by exceptionally high tides.

From Ipswich take A12 to Woodbridge then various minor roads to Waldringfield on south bank or Bawdsey on north bank. Boat hire available Woodbridge or Waldringfield.
