Stone Point offers a good vantage point over the River Colne with species such as Mittelsäger flying in and out of the Estuary. In the bushes and muddy areas you can find Schwarzkehlchen, Rohrammer and Strandpieper during the winter and if you are lucky Schneeammer. The saltmarsh and beach are good places to watch Ringelgans, Sanderling, Knutt, Alpenstrandläufer, Sandregenpfeifer, Rotschenkel, Säbelschnäbler, Großer Brachvogel, Kiebitzregenpfeifer, Uferschnepfe and Pfuhlschnepfe at close range during the winter. The area can be busy with visitors so early or late visits can be productive.
