Beschreibung

The Eden Estuary Centre in Guardbridge is a perfect spot for bird watching. The centre is a bird hide and also a small visitor center in one and has a toilet inside. The bulk of the Eden Estuary reserve is made up of rich intertidal mud and sand flats that support a huge variety and volume of bird life including waders, ducks, divers and grebes. For example Uferschnepfe, Pfuhlschnepfe, Austernfischer, Kiebitzregenpfeifer, Rotschenkel, Brandgans, Kurzschnabelgans and Mittelsäger. Possibilty of Seeadler. You might also have a chance of spotting interesting mammals including otter, dolphin and common seal.

Viewing is best in the couple of hours before/after high tide when the birds are concentrated near the hide - at low tide the birds can be very distant. See a link to the tides table below.
