Beschreibung
Glasfynydd Forest has mostly moorland and woodland species eg Schwarzkehlchen, Schottischen Moorschneehuhn, Gartenrotschwanz, Bekassine, Zwergschnepfe, Merlin, Turmfalke and Rotmilan. In winter Raubwürger, Fichtenkreuzschnabel, Gimpel, Erlenzeisig and Alpenbirkenzeisig. Few birds on the reservoir but Krickente, Graureiher and Gänsesäger possible. Wasseramsel and Gebirgsstelze below the dam. For Ziegenmelker, look for a recently felled forest area with regrowth of bracken, bramble etc - only active after dark between May and August.

From Swansea take A4067 Tawe valley road then left two miles beyond Danyrogof caves. From A40 Brecon/Llandovery road, turn south from Trecastle. Buses through Trecastle regularly. Train station at Llandovery. The circular walk around the reservoir is 8 km.
