Gronant has 200 pairs of breeding Zwergseeschwalbe and some Brandseeschwalbe and Flußseeschwalbe. Several wader species, Turmfalke, Schleiereule, Trauerente, Feldlerche and Bluthänfling. On the 4 ha Big Pool reserve there are Rohrammer, Teichrohrsänger, Waldbaumläufer, Gebirgsstelze, Grauschnäpper, Erlenzeisig and Wasserralle. Sand lizards, natterjack toads, pyramid orchids, sea holly, sea purslane and other wildflowers can be found in the dunes.
