Beschreibung
Lavernock Point usual seawatch species eg Austernfischer, Trauerente, Basstölpel, Eissturmvogel, Skua, petrels, Dreizehenmöwe, Wanderfalke, Schwarzkopfmöwe and terns. Breeding species include Dorngrasmücke, Mönchsgrasmücke and Strandpieper. Migrating flocks of Rotdrossel, Wacholderdrossel, Bluthänfling, waders, Stieglitz and 1,000s of Ringeltaube. The beach is good for triassic and jurassic fossils such as ammonites, giant oysters, bones and teeth of marine reptiles. The sea here has a high tidal range and sweeps in very quickly. Check tide times (see the link below) before venturing to the shoreline and avoid overhanging cliffs.

From M4 junction 33 go south on A4232, then right at first interchange on A4060, continue past Barry and through Sully village. Sign to Lavernock on right 2 miles further on.
