From September to November, and in April/May Painswick hill is good for seeing migrants, especially early morning. Hundreds of Ringeltaube, Goldregenpfeifer, Buchfink, Star, Wacholderdrossel, Rotdrossel and Eichelhäher can pass through. Also Bergfink, Erlenzeisig, Kernbeißer, Goldammer, Baumfalke, Wanderfalke, Merlin, Ringdrossel, Rotmilan, Sperber and Kornweihe possible. For report on insect life see link below.

4 miles south of Gloucester on B4073 Painswick road. M5 junction 12. 66 bus from Cheltenham stops nearby. Be aware of golfers, dont obstruct play or become an accidental target. The circular walking route indicated on the map is about 4,5 km.
