In Winter, hunting Rohrweihe over the reeds is a common sight, along with waterfowl on the pools, Schleiereule hunting over the grassy areas, some increasingly spectacular murmaerations of Star and with the chance of Bartmeise. Year round there are a number of way marked trails to follow through the reserve. Summer brings Baumfalke and Seidensänger which can occasionally be heard over winter now too. Woodland birds are found in the wooded area to the south of the reserve.
