The main areas of interest are;
1. Gamber Meadows - reedbed, river and rushy swamp. Access from St Weonards, see map. May have Eisvogel, Bekassine, Sperber, Wiesenschafstelze, Waldkauz, Rohrammer and Teichrohrsänger.
2. Pencoyd fishing and irrigation pools. Park at Pencoyd church. May have Grünspecht, Buntspecht, Gebirgsstelze, Misteldrossel, Schwarzkehlchen, Dorngrasmücke, Mönchsgrasmücke, Graureiher, Mäusebussard, Turmfalke and Kolkrabe.
3. Apple orchards north of Michaelchurch. 100's of Wacholderdrossel and Rotdrossel in winter.
4. Stubble fields, field margins sown for pheasants etc - attract flocks of Feldlerche, Bluthänfling, Erlenzeisig, Dohle and occasional Alpenbirkenzeisig and Bergfink in late autumn. Rotmilan and Kolkrabe.
Mammals in the area include roe and muntjac deer, hare, red fox and badger.

Zugang
St Weonards is midway between Hereford and Monmouth on the A466. Buses every two hours from either town. Parking opposite the school then walk through churchyard. Please do not park by the church, as this obstructs farmer's machinery. The circular route from St Weonards is about 5 km.
Pencoed and Michaelchurch are near Harewood End on the A49 Hereford-Ross road. Buses are hourly from either town. The circular route from Pencoyd church is about 3 km.
