The drive on Joe Overstreet Road is 5.5 miles through an agricultural area (cropping, livestock). Various species of birds can be seen along the road such as Sandhill Crane, Wood Stork, Eastern Meadowlark, Red-shouldered Hawk, Bald Eagle and Great Horned Owl. There is an observation platform at Lake Kissimmee where you can see Osprey, Anhinga, Double-crested Cormorant, Tricolored Heron, Laughing Gull and others.
A telephoto lens with the largest possible focal length and/or a spotting scope is recommended for the Bald Eagle, which are usually at a greater distance.
