W.G. Jones State Forest is located north of Houston, near Conroe and The Woodlands. It is right off a main thoroughfare near an interstate highway. It is on the north side of State highway 1488. Just park in the parking lot an walk towards the pines and listen or just look for woodpeckers. Press P on the map for directions to the parking.
