Description
Stepanavan Sochut Dendropark has a good combination of coniferous forest, vast fields and small rocky rivers. At the territory of the arboretum you can find forest species like woodpeckers, flycatchers, owls, tits, Χρυσοβασιλίσκος and even (Κοινός) Σταυρομύτης. At the surrounding fields and nearby farm buntings, swallows, (Κοινή) Ροδόσπιζα and (Κοινό) Φανέτο can be found. A small river attracts Ακτίτης, Λευκοσουσουράδα, Τρυποφράχτης and others.

Access
Stepanavan Sochut Dendropark is located 13.5 km south from Stepanavan and 3 km from the closest village Gulagarak. Press P on the map for directions. You can get there by car or taxi from Vanadzor (30 km, 40 min). Entrance fee to the Dendropark is 1000 dram (2026). You can pay by cash and by card. Parking is free of charge.
The Dendropark is quite big and there are a lot of small trails, so it will take to 2-4 hours to discover all of them. There is a wonderfull cafe near the park entrance, which is located 5 meters above the ground. So you can take a lunch with the view on feeding Ελατοπαπαδίτσα, Δεντροτσοπανάκος, Πευκοδρυοκολάπτης and other forest birds.
