The Avant-port is a port zone that includes several basins along the river Rhine. It is easy to see the birds from the riverbank. Many (Βουβός) Κύκνος and (Κοινή) Φαλαρίδα with some Πρασινοκέφαλη Πάπια and (Ευρωπαϊκός) Κορμοράνος year-round, and Μαυροκέφαλη Πάπια and Καστανοκέφαλος Γλάρος in winter. During a cold winter, Χηνοπρίστης is sometimes seen.

The Avant-port of Strasbourg is located on the eastern outskirts of Strasbourg, along the Rhine River. Easy to reach by car or bicycle. Press P on the map for directions. Several tram and bus lines run close to the port area.
