Description
Eagle Gorge is an easily accessible gorge from Dedoplistsqaro. Όρνιο, Μαύρος Πελαργός and Πετρίτης breed on the cliffs and can easily be seen from specific watchpoints along the routes. On warm days, Φιδαετός and Γερακαετός make regular appearances. In the forest down in the valley (Ευρωπαϊκός) Συκοφάγος and Green Warbler can be heard in spring and summer.
The cliff walls are home to (Δυτικός) Βραχοτσοπανάκος, Γαλαζοκότσυφας and (Ευρωπαϊκό) Βραχοχελίδονο. Near the parking lot Αμπελουργός, Βλαχοτσίχλονο and Γερακοτσιροβάκος are heard singing or can be seen on migration. In autumn, Νυφογερανός are sometimes seen migrating past the highest tops. Further along the path there is a breeding facility for wild (Κοινός) Φασιανός , so a true wild bird of this species has to be encountered somewhere else.

Access
Eagle Gorge is located 130 km east of Tblisi near Dedoplistskaro in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia. Dedoplistskaro is reachable by road from Tbilisi in about 2.5–3 hours. Parking can be done at the Eagle Gorge parking lot. Press P on the map for directions. From the parking it is a short (but straining) walk towards some watchpoints.
