Description
Get up early with high tide, before the dogwalkers appear, and the beach will have plenty of birds in easy reach of a short stroll. (Ευρωπαϊκός) Στρειδοφάγος, (Ευρασιατική) Τουρλίδα, Σταχτοτσικνιάς and Κοκκινοσκέλης are all likely on the beach around the waterline. Χαλικοκυλιστής, Hooded Crow and Pied Wagtail may be more likely on exposed seaweed or flotsam around the tide mark. Χαβαρόνι is also possible. (Ευρωπαϊκός) Θαλασσοκόρακας is most likely hauled out on rocky outcrops, although (Ευρωπαϊκός) Κορμοράνος is becoming more common in recent times. Καστανοκέφαλος Γλάρος is common with occasional Μαυροκέφαλος Γλάρος. (Κοινή) Πουπουλόπαπια and Πρασινοκέφαλη Πάπια are likely in the water.
For a slightly longer walk a path goes along the cliffs at the north end of the bay where Θαλασσοκελάδα, Μαυρολαίμης and Κοκκινοκαλιακούδα could be encountered.
