The entire Tràs-os-Montes region is a beautiful, undiscovered area teeming with birds. For example around the village of Loivos where you can find birds such as Τσαλαπετεινός, Ψαλιδιάρης, Τσίφτης, Spanish Imperial Eagle, Όρνιο, Κοκκινοπέρδικα, Δενδροχελίδονο, (Ευρωπαϊκό) Τρυγόνι, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Συκοφάγος and a large colony of (Ευρωπαϊκός) Μελισσοφάγος.
