The Foix Delta is located in Cubelles, Barcelona province. In its final stretch the Foix river runs through a heavily urbanized area. During spring and autumn, the river mouth is a good place to observe passerine migratory bird species like Δενδροχελίδονο , Μαυροφτέρι , Μαυρομυγοχάφτης , Καλαμοποταμίδα , Κοκκινοκεφαλάς , and also shorebirds like Δασότρυγγας , Κοκκινοσκέλης , Πρασινοσκέλης , or Αμμοσφυριχτής. Θαλασσοσφυριχτής is one of the most iconic species. Other interesting species that occur are (Ξανθός) Κρυπτοτσικνιάς , Πορφυροτσικνιάς , and (Ευρωπαϊκή) Νεροκοτσέλα.
The following species are present all year round: (Ευρωπαϊκή) Κιστικόλη , (Ευρωπαϊκό) Ψευταηδόνι , and Μαυροτσιροβάκος. Seabirds can also be observed resting or bathing in the lagoon, notably Μαυροκέφαλος Γλάρος , Χειμωνογλάρονο , and Αιγαιόγλαρος. At sea, notable species can be observed such as Μύχος των Βαλεαρίδων , Μύχος (της Μεσογείου) , Αρτέμης , and Σούλα (του Βορά).

Access
The Foix Delta is located in the town of Cubelles, about 50 km west of Barcelona. The area can be reached by car, and it is easy to park in the Municipal Sports Centre. Press P on the map for directions to the parking. Public transport: Getting there by train is easy. The train station of Cubelles (1) is on walking distance (500m) of the Foix Delta. The circular walking route shown on the map is about 1,5 km.
