Description
Broom Lakes are former gravel pits that have become a nice habitat with pools and wet meadows that are interesting for many water birds and waders. When you walk around Broom Lakes you can - depending on the season - see good numbers of duck, including Βαρβάρα, (Ευρωπαϊκό) Κιρκίρι, (Ευρωπαϊκό) Σφυριχτάρι, Μαυροκέφαλη Πάπια, Καπακλής and Πρασινοκέφαλη Πάπια. Both Σκουφοβουτηχτάρι and (Κοκκινόλαιμο) Νανοβουτηχτάρι are often seen. Other birds that can be seen here include Ποταμογλάρονο, Ποταμοσφυριχτής, Αμμοσφυριχτής, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Στρειδοφάγος, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Καλημάνα, Κοκκινοσκέλης, Χηνοπρίστης, (Μεγάλο) Καλαμοτσίχλονο, Χρυσοτσίχλονο, Ψαλιδιάρης, (Κοινή) Γερακίνα and Βραχοκιρκίνεζο.
