Description
Caswell Bay is a coastal area on the south east of the Gower Peninsula. You can walk along the coast and cliffs. The Bishop's Wood nature reserve sits behind the bay, a rare example of a limestone woodland. You can see many different birds in and around the bay. In the skies look out for the rare Κοκκινοκαλιακούδα. Other relatively rare birds are Πετρίτης and (Κοινός) Κόρακας, and you may also see (or hear) Πράσινος Δρυοκολάπτης, (Κοινή) Σιταρήθρα, (Κοινή) Γερακίνα, (Κοινή) Καρδερίνα, (Κοινός) Πύρρουλας and Μαυρολαίμης. Other birds you can encounter are (Ευρωπαϊκό) Κιρκίρι, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Κούκος, (Κοινή) Σταχτάρα and (Ευρωπαϊκός) Στρειδοφάγος.

Access
There is good access to Caswell Bay by car and public transport. To the east is a well maintained coastal path leading to the neighbouring Langland Bay. To the west is a more rural path leading to Brandy Cove and Pwlldu Bay. You can also make a circular walk (see the link below).
