The brickworks only closed in the 1980’s and since then the buildings were cleared with just concrete foundations and a brick wharf giving any hint to the history of this site. (Κοινό) Αηδόνι and (Ευρωπαϊκό) Τρυγόνι can be heard, and a colony of Μαυροκέφαλος Γλάρος are usually found nesting offshore on Fowley Island. Among the other birds you can encounter in the area are Lesser Whitethroat, Δαχτυλιδόχηνα, Βαρβάρα, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Κούκος, Θαλασσοπρίστης, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Αβοκέτα, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Στρειδοφάγος, Αργυροπούλι, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Καλημάνα, (Ευρασιατική) Τουρλίδα, Λασποσκαλίδρα and (Ευρωπαϊκή) Λιμόζα.
