Description

Merkinch is an area of tidal pools and mudflats, reedbeds, ponds, saltmarsh and scrub. Birds seen include (Ευρωπαϊκή) Βουκεφάλα, (Κοινή) Πουπουλόπαπια, all three diver species, Χιονόπαπια, Χειμωνοβουτηχτάρι, Razorbill, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Νεροκότσυφας, Θαλασσοκελάδα, (Κοινό) Λούγαρο, Χειμωνόσπινος, Parrot Crossbill, Θαμνοτριλιστής, Ψαραετός and (Κοινό) Ξεφτέρι.

Access

Merkinch is the NW suburb of Inverness. Follow Thornbush road/Kessock road to the terminus where parking is available. Regular bus service.
