Description
The Moor Green Lakes Nature Reserve occupies 36 hectares north of the River Blackwater. A footpath runs along much of the River Blackwater and provides reasonable, but sometimes distant, views of the lakes. There are 2 hides on the reserve providing good views of the lakes. Resident birds are (Κοκκινόλαιμο) Νανοβουτηχτάρι, Σκουφοβουτηχτάρι, (Κοινός) Λευκοτσικνιάς, (Κοινό) Ξεφτέρι, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Καλημάνα, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Κουκουβάγια, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Αλκυόνη, (Μεγάλο) Καλαμοτσίχλονο, (Κοινός) Πύρρουλας and Ψαλιδιάρης. Summer visitors are Ποταμοσφυριχτής, Καστανοκέφαλος Γλάρος, Ποταμογλάρονο and Δεντρογέρακο. In winter you can expect Χηνοπρίστης, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Βουκεφάλα, Νανοπρίστης, Σταχτοσουσουράδα and sometimes Βαλτόμπουφος. During migration birds like (Ευρωπαϊκή) Σαρσέλα, Ψαραετός, Καλαμόκιρκος and Πρασινοσκέλης can sometimes be spotted.

At the western end, there is a small car park off Lower Sandhurst Road (SU 805 628), and at the eastern end, the Activity Centre car-park off Mill Lane (SU 821 620).
