Description
A large part of the reservoir can be seen from the Rutland Water Dam. The eastern side of the reservoir is often the best place to find visiting divers, grebes and sea ducks, or occasionally (Ευρωπαϊκός) Θαλασσοκόρακας amongst the more numerous (Ευρωπαϊκός) Κορμοράνος. On the rocky face of the dam Θαλασσοκελάδα is a possibility between late February and early April. During migration and in winter check the grassy slope behind the dam for passerines – it often attracts flocks of pipits and wagtails, and has held both Χιονοτσίχλονο, Lapland Bunting and Twite in the past.
