Descripción

There are two lakes in the area, separated by a strip of land. The banks of the northern pond consist of gravel and sand, whilst the southern pond is surrounded by trees and has only very narrow or no large banks; however, there are a few areas of reeds. To the west of the ponds, renaturation work is still actively underway. In addition to the ponds, the area also features meadows, hedgerows, fields and a small wooded area.

Whilst around the southern pond one can mainly hear and see songbirds such as the Mosquitero Común, Herrerillo Común, Carbonero Común, Carricero Tordal, Carricero Políglota, Curruca Capirotada, Curruca Zarcerilla, Curruca Zarcera and Acentor Común, the pond itself is often home to Zampullín Común, Somormujo Lavanco, Ánade azulón and Ánsar común. At the northern pond, you can mainly spot Porrón Moñudo, Focha Común, Pato Mandarín and Cisne Vulgar. On the patch of meadow between the ponds, you will frequently find Tarabilla común, Escribano Palustre and Buscarla Pintoja. In the hedge by the road to the east of the ponds, you can find Alcaudón Dorsirrojo, Escribano Cerillo and Pico Picapinos.
