Descripción

Zona Arqueológica Xlapak is a small Maya archaeological site located in the Puuc region of the Yucatán Peninsula. The site flourished between approximately 750 and 950 AD in a small valley near Labná. Xlapak is part of the broader Puuc region, which includes other notable Maya sites such as Labná and Uxmal and is situated within the Puuc Biosphere Reserve, which means its preservation is closely linked to protecting the surrounding natural environment.

The archaeological site is small but the surrounding lowland jungle is extensive. It provides habitat for many resident and migratory birds. Around Xlapak, you can expect to see a variety of birds such as trogons, motmots, woodpeckers, orioles, flycatchers and several species of hummingbirds.
